Local incoming agency also called Destination Management Company – DMC

In the field of international tourism, the term incoming agency refers to a travel agency that is responsible for organizing stays, travel and activities within the visited country.

The incoming agency acts as a service provider on behalf of the tour operator who designed and sold and provided the tourism service in the tourists’ country of origin.

The services of an incoming agency can be used in the context of leisure or business tourism.

In the latter case, the service may be provided directly on behalf of the company organising a seminar or convention abroad. In business tourism, incoming agencies are often referred to as DMCs.

In the field of tourism, DMC is the initial of “Destination Management Company”.

A DMC is therefore a receptive agency.

The term DMC is most often used in the context of business tourism but can also be found in the context of leisure tourism.

A DMC can intervene on behalf of an event agency or directly for the company wishing to organise an event abroad (seminar, incentive, etc.).

By definition the DMC have a good knowledge of the destination that they represent.

They are specialised in the logistical organisation and the supplying of peripheral services in the primary event area (transfers, dinner and shows, creative and farewell evenings, fun outings …), particularly for the requirements of international events.
